Graduation is Upon Us
Yes it’s that time of year again. Graduation.
It used to be only for High School and College. Now, however, there are graduations for high school, college, middle school, preschool, grade school, potty training….everything you can think of. The message is the same, though….”time to move on”.
So, I’ve collected some of my favorite graduation based cards, t-shirts, and more

The Avengers Movie Opens Next week
I have been a comic book and super hero fan for as long as I can remember. Superman, Batman, The Fantastic Four, The Legion of Super Heroes.
How many of you know that Supergirl ( Superman’s cousin) lived in a orphanage and was named Linda Danvers?
How many of you remember the Legion of Super Heroes members Lightning Boy, Saturn Girl, and Mon-El?
My mother worried about me reading comic books ( course I read everything thing from the back of cereal boxes to books from the library) until I handed her one once. She was amazed at both the vocabulary and the concept of right vs wrong. She never questioned my reading them again.
HOWEVER – I will probably NEVER forgive her for giving away my three huge boxes filled with classics I had purchased in my teen years. She did that while I was away at college. ( that was at the same time that she gave away my Barbie dolls – yes, the original ones – one with blond pony tail and one with brunette bubble cut).
Anyway, I have seen the Ironman movies, and Thor….although I have to say, I’m not a HUGE fan of Thor of the Hulk. I’ve seen most of all of the other super hero movies and loved them.
And NOW comes the Avengers movie with a team up of Ironman, Thor, Hulk, and more. Next week. May 4th. I’m going.
Don’t know if any of you know Squidoo…but I just finished making a “lens” about the Avengers. I’d love if you’d take a look, “Like it”, and let me know what you think about it. Marvelous Avengers
I really like the circular “shield” for SHIELD.
And this mug for Iron man is pretty cool.
Mother’s Day
The year seems to move SOOOO fast. Mother’s Day is a month away (May 13) and it’s time to think about getting that perfect Mother’s Day card. And sometimes it’s not just for your mother…it’s for all the mother’s in your family and circle of friends, and godmothers and grandmothers, and it goes on and on.
I’ve gathered some of my favorite Mother’s Day cards for you.

Dinner Guests
From that title you would think that we are having dinner parties all the time, or something.
Actually, no. We seldom entertain humans but we do routinely entertain animals.
And we have several that come on a routine basis.
The first of the guests we started entertaining were squirrels. My father had fed the neighborhood squirrels when we were kids and they would come right up to him. My brother lives a few houses away and he feeds them now. The squirrels even brought a little baby to their back porch once – I guess to show where the good stuff was. His mother-in-law puts out bread with peanut butter. Now that’s funny to watch. They’re running around with these chunks of bread bigger than their heads. And, now that we’ve moved close by, we get them too. Every time they hear us go in or out the porch door, they show up. Usually there’s this “blunk” and they jump onto the porch from the railing and come over and look into the door as if to say “please, feed a starving squirrel”. They will sit there and seat them or keep coming back if we’re sitting on the porch as long as we have any. For awhile, I was wondering what was hitting the back and front door on occasion. I thought it was neighborhood kids throwing things. But, no, when I was outside one day, I saw what was happening. The squirrel would launch itself from the porch railing toward our back door and bang on it. They’re very persistent.

Johnny Appleseed
Does anyone remember Johnny Appleseed?
When I was in grade school, I read a story – an American folk story – about how Johnny Appleseed walked across the country planting apple trees.
Now, I can’t find the actual story, so if anyone reading this knows what it is, I’d love to read it. But, think how many amazing kinds of apples are now available and the fact that I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love apples – including horses.
Here are some apple related designs that I especially like.
